About me: Juliet Eve

I am a Prinicpal Lecturer in the School of Computing, Mathematical and Information Sciences at the University of Brighton, and currently Head of the Division of Information and Media Studies.

I teach on our postgraduate library and information management courses (the MA Information Studies, a first professional qualification offered as a full time or part time course; and our two continuing professional development courses the MSc Information Management, and the MSc Information Mangagement (Health), both of which offer a full MSc route as well as stand alone modules in a flexible semi-distance learning format).

My research interests are primarily

  • the role of the public library in society (past research has specifically focused on evaluation studies, ICT and lifelong learning developments)
  • the relationship between research and practice

I am a committee member of LIRG, the Library and Information Research Group (a CILIP special interest group) and currently the newsletter editor.

My most recent project was a sector interaction study for the AHRC on interactions bewteen library and archive researchers and practitioners. Articles from the project have been published in CILIP’s Update  (this links you to the article) and in LIRG’s journal, Library and Information Research. The latter article is available from the Univeristy of Brighton’s repository here.

Previous research and articles are listed on my University of Brighton homepage, and most can be downloaded from our institutional repository.
